The negotiations were allowed after a provisional measure from the federal government that released the abatement of student debts with the program.
BB informs that, in contracts with more than 90 days of delay in payments on the date of publication of the MP, a discount of 100% of late charges and 12% of the principal amount will be granted, in cash payments. It will also be possible to pay the balance in 150 monthly installments, with a 100% discount on late fees.
For students in arrears for less than five years who are linked to the Single Registry, or who have been beneficiaries of Emergency Aid in 2021, discounts can reach 92% of the debt balance, upon full settlement of the outstanding balance. It is also possible to pay the balance in 15 monthly installments, adjusted by the average Selic rate.
In this same group, but with a delay of more than five years, the discount on the total balance can reach 99% upon full settlement. It is also possible to pay the balance in 15 installments adjusted by the Selic rate.
In other cases, the authorized discount is 77% of the total debt balance with full settlement, or installment in 15 installments with correction.
The contracting of discounts and installments can be done through the BB application or through the agencies, and can be requested until December 31 of this year. Students who contracted Fies until the second half of 2017, with installments overdue for more than 90 days on December 30, 2021, and who have not previously joined renegotiations can join.
