Starting next Friday (2/9), Contagem will host the Minas Paradesporto Project, which aims to introduce children and young people with disabilities, aged between six and 18, into sports. The project is already taking place in other cities, such as Belo Horizonte, Governador Valadares and, soon, will also be in Mariana. It is promoted by Associação Mineira do Paradesporto, with the support of the City Hall, sponsorship of Cemig and made possible by the Federal Law of Incentive to Sport.
“The proposal is to include children and young people with disabilities in different modalities. Bocce, futsal, basketball and badminton will be offered. Thus, we hope to help in motor, physical, cognitive, social development and improve the quality of life of people with disabilities through sport”, highlighted the project coordinator, Lina Vitarelli.
In Count, 50 vacancies will be available and Activities will take place every Tuesday and Fridayat the tropical gym, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. “Classes will be formed according to the functional profile of each applicant. Initially it is a project that will run at full speed for 12 months, but we intend to continue for a long time in the city”, he added.
