Gang that robbed bank and jewelry store in Minas Gerais is target of operation in Joinville

A gang from Joinville, in the north of Santa Catarina, was the target of an operation by the Civil Police on the morning of this Wednesday (31). The group is suspected of robbing a bank branch and a jewelry store in Teófilo Otoni, Minas Gerais, in addition to trying to rob another store.

Carried out by the Minas Gerais Civil Police, the operation had the support of 16 police officers from Santa Catarina. According to delegate José Gattaz Neto, five search warrants were carried out in the Iririú and Boa Vista neighborhoods, in the eastern part of the city.

In addition, two other arrest warrants were issued, but the targets were not located. At the addresses, the tools used in the crimes and cell phones were seized.

At the jewelry store, R$ 350 thousand in gold, jewelry, stones were stolen. In addition, the group broke into two ATMs that are inside a supermarket, but the stolen values ​​were not disclosed.

The Minas Gerais police also suspect that other people from Joinville may be part of the criminal group.
