The “BBB 24” champion, Davi Brito, denied rumors that he had been harassed in Rio Grande do Sul, where he participated in volunteer efforts to help victims of the recent floods. The former app driver stated that he was well received by the local population and plans to return this week to continue helping. He only returned to Salvador, Bahia, this weekend to spend Mother’s Day with his mother.

Clarifications and future plans

Davi used his social media to clarify the situation and express his frustration with the fake news. “The internet has to stop [com o hate]Brazil has to stop”, said Davi. “The haters, instead of posting there: ‘Let’s help Rio Grande do Sul’, which is in need, take it and do it [falar mal de quem tá ajudando]”. He pointed out: “Just you going there in person to see [a situação]. Houses under water, dogs on roofs, people asking for help, okay? So, people have to stop and go help. I only came to Salvador to see my mother, but I’m going back on Wednesday.”

In his live, he lamented that many try to distort his efforts. “I only went back home to see my mother and people published saying that I was harassed. Liars, the people of Rio Grande do Sul received me very well”, he stated, highlighting the welcome he received and the gratitude expressed by local residents in your social networks.

In fact, Davi also faced heavy criticism, but overall met with positive reception from the community.

Racial issues

He mentioned that he faces demands and feels a difference in treatment compared to other participants in the reality show, relating this to racial issues. “It’s hard to see black people here with a good car, a good apartment, a good house, bathing in the pool. People don’t like it. If it was a white guy who won the BBB, who had where I am, no one would be saying anything”, he commented.

Transparency in donations

In addition to addressing these issues, Davi also informed his followers about the management of donations received for flood victims. He asked them to stop sending contributions to his personal Pix while he was outside Rio Grande do Sul, guaranteeing that he would be accountable for all the resources used. “I will show the invoices for everything that was purchased with the money from donations”, he promised, reinforcing his commitment to transparency and ethics in the use of the funds raised.
