Bank branch ATMs are exploded in a city in the interior of Bahia

The ATMs of a bank branch located in the center of Capernaum, in the north of Bahia, were blown up by criminals in the early hours of this Friday (10). According to the Military Police, the city’s platoon headquarters was also attacked, but no one was injured.

According to information from the 7th Military Police Battalion (BPM), the agency, located on Rua Eduardo Barreto, was also attacked by a group of armed men, who, after the criminal action, fled in two cars.

The report contacted Banco do Brasil and is awaiting the agency’s position on the case.

Witnesses also reported hearing the sound of many gunshots, in addition to the explosions. Hours later, one of the cars used in the crime was found charred in the rural area of ​​the municipality.

In a statement, the Public Security Secretariat of Bahia (SSP-BA) informed that territorial and specialized police stations of the Military and Civil police are in the Capernaum region, carrying out sweeps and intelligence actions to identify and arrest the perpetrators of the attacks.

According to the public security body, information about criminals can be sent, even anonymously, via the Integrated Communication Center (Cicom) – 190 and Hotline – 181.
