Governor tries out glasses used to read license plates that check the status of vehicles in real time

Focusing on the safety of the population of Mato Grosso do Sul, the State Government puts into operation the Integrated Road Safety Center, which will monitor in real time, 24 hours a day, vehicles traveling on state highways or urban roads.

The governor, Eduardo Riedel, participated in the launch of the Integrated Center this Thursday morning (09), at Detran-MS (State Traffic Department of Mato Grosso do Sul), in Campo Grande. The vice-governor, José Carlos Barbosa (Barbosinha), and other authorities, also participated in the ceremony.

On that occasion, the cooperation agreement was formalized that authorizes the publication of the notice for the first auction of vehicles with judicial restrictions in the country, the result of a partnership with the TJMS (Court of Justice of Mato Grosso do Sul).

“Society is dynamic and needs innovative ideas that benefit the population. The integrated center is a modern and technological action and will integrate all state and federal forces that work in monitoring and control”, stated Riedel.

Road monitoring of roads in Mato Grosso do Sul, which is already in operation, is carried out using speed controllers or monitoring cameras installed at specific points, taking care to be unmarked to prevent vandalism. The Integrated Center collaborates with federal, state and municipal public security forces, on highways or urban roads in Mato Grosso do Sul, in addition to assisting in the recovery of stolen vehicles, drug seizures, among others.

“Detran has worked to provide effective returns to citizens, improving payment methods and reforming agencies. In addition to focusing on the pillars of current management, with cost reduction and growth”, said the CEO of Detran-MS, Rudel Trindade.

The Integrated Road Safety Center will operate online, receiving registration of every vehicle that travels on the State’s highways. The information will reach the monitoring center, where operators (Detran-MS traffic authority agents) will carry out intelligence, monitoring and gathering vehicle information. Glasses with technology for recording and reading vehicle license plates will also be available for use by agents, enabling real-time verification of their status.

“The integrated center has technology that allows the creation of a network to electronically surround state highways and urban roads in partner municipalities. It is in the installation phase and has been in operation since January. We have already had positive results with recovered vehicles and other actions successful”, said Ruben Ajala, inspection and patrol manager at Detran.

Renajud

Another novelty is the holding of the first auction of vehicles with judicial restrictions (Renajud) in the country, formalized through cooperation between Detran-MS and TJMS, which will bring benefits to Mato Grosso do Sul society.

The partnership allows vehicles with Renajud locks to be auctioned quickly and without bureaucracy, providing the buyer with a vehicle free from legal clearance.

“The proposal came to help. Now Detran just needs to notify the judge, who has 60 days to respond. If he does not comment, it is understood that the auction may be executed. Other courts started to adopt this system and publicize how important this is”, stated the judge and president of the TJMS, Sérgio Martins.

The auction will take place in May, with more than 300 vehicles on offer, distributed in the following categories: circulation, usable scrap and unusable scrap. Among the lots, there are vehicles that were in the Detran yard for 15 years, but there are also new vehicles (year/model 2015) in excellent condition. The initial estimate of gross revenue from the auction is more than R$450,000.

“Cars deteriorating in yards is a financial loss. Reversing the logic is the great challenge that was posed to Detran, which sought and found a solution. I launch the challenge of eliminating the vehicles in this yard, of which there are 20 thousand. Let’s work to resolve this” , said the governor.

Remodeling

It was also delivered from the renovation and expansion of the Detran auditorium, which was named after the server “Antonio Carlos Mattos de Lima” (in memorian). The new structure received investments of R$1.1 million, a resource that made it possible to promote accessibility at the location.
