BELO HORIZONTE (MG) – The first edition of the MTM – Minas Travel Market, B2B Tourism fair organized by Abav-MG, in a recent partnership with BBC Eventos. The event takes place at Minascentro, in Belo Horizonte, and brought together more than 2,300 participants over two days (April 26th and 27th).
The MTM replaces the old Minas Gerais Tourism Hall, also from Abav-MG. The reformulation was not just in the name: the organization was also renewed, moving from the hotel fair to the Minascentro, and ceasing to be a regional fair to cover the whole of Brazil.
“Other regions have events of this type and size and here we didn’t. It was a needy market in this sense, even more so if we stop to remember the potential for issuing tourists that the State has”, points out Peter Mangabeira, president of Abav-MG .
The managers of BBC Eventos, Claudio Junior and Breno Mesquita, say that, for the new version of the fair, the guideline was to create an environment that favored the generation of business, with registrants who proved their interest and without attendees who did not actually act in the sector. “We really value generating business in the corridors,” he says.
