Despite being almost 50 years old, Ceasa/GO (Centrais de Abastecimento de Goiás) is still unknown to many. The size of the warehouse, which is the largest in the Center-North of Brazil and through which around 15 thousand people pass daily, ends up being a surprise for those who arrive at the center for the first time.

To try to change this reality and bring the company closer to the general public, the Knowing Ceasa program was created.

The initiative is managed by the Technical Division of Ceasa/GO and aims to provide an overview of what the plant is, its operation, its potential, in addition to promoting an accompanied visit to the warehouses that make up the company.

Since its creation, the project has received more than 15 educational institutions, from elementary to university. The Federal University of Goiás (UFG) and the State University of Goiás (UEG) are the most frequently visited. It is also common for audiences in the interior of the state, in cities such as Iporá, Morrinhos and Rio Verde.

During the program, the visiting group is received by the Technical Division manager, Josué Lopes Siqueira, who, in the company’s auditorium, gives a brief lecture on how Ceasa works. Then, places such as Pedra 1 (Producer’s Market), tomato separation conveyors and orange processing are visited.

Also part of the itinerary is a visit to the air-conditioned chambers, the packaging of fine fruits and the Food Bank.

Ceasa is open all year round to welcome those interested in visiting the Goiânia warehouse. To schedule a visit, simply contact us by phone (62)3522-9007 or send an email to the following addresses: [email protected] and josué[email protected].
