Three young people and a teenager were found dead this Monday morning (1st), in the rural area of ​​the city of Barro Preto, in the south of Bahia. According to the municipality’s Civil Police, the bodies had gunshot marks and were tied together.

The victims were identified as:

  • Samyr Emanuel dos Santos Nunes, 19 years old;

  • John Lenon Ramos Santos, 26 years old;

Preliminary information indicates that the victims were kidnapped on Sunday night (31). John Lenon and Jamylle Ramos were brothers. The woman was dating Samyr Emanuel. She left behind a 9-year-old daughter from another relationship.

Witnesses said they were approached by three armed men and taken to a wooded area. Residents said they heard the sound of gunshots, but thought they were shots fired by hunters.

The bodies were found in an area that was difficult to access. The victims were killed with at least 20 shots.

In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the case is being investigated by teams from the Barro Preto police station, with the support of the 6th Regional Interior Police Coordination (Coorpin/Itabuna) and the Technical Support Coordination for Investigation (Cati/Sul).

Initial investigations indicate that the massacre is linked to drug trafficking. However, the victims had no prior record with the police. There are still no details about who committed the crime.
