With the progress of implementing the Gentileza Terminal and the expansion of the BRT Transbrasil operation, the VLT Carioca now offers another electric train line for users: line 4, which runs between the Gentileza Terminal and Praça XV.

The service is being carried out from 11am to 4pm on weekdays, and from 10am to 3pm on weekends. The schedules will be expanded as the implementation of BRT Transbrasil progresses. Line 1, which runs the Santos Dumont x Terminal Gentileza service, continues to run regularly, from 6am to midnight.

With the arrival of the new line, the VLT expands its capacity to serve users who wish to travel through the city center, integrating with the train, subway, BRT, ferry services, in addition to promoting arrivals at Santos Dumont airport.

“The expansion of the VLT service follows our proposal for integration between modes, ensuring convenience and comfort for our customers. Today is the first business day of the new operation and our teams are in the field to guarantee the best mobility experience for those using the Gentileza terminal”, said Rodrigo Feitoza, executive manager of Operations at the VLT Carioca concessionaire.

The VLT ticket costs R$4.30 and each passenger must have their own card for validation upon boarding. It can be purchased or loaded at stops and stations, which also have terminals for checking balances, unlocking cards and releasing online top-ups, which can be done via the Riocard Mais app, Jaé or the Recarga Mais website.
