Recife won the first public Cross Training in Brazil.

According to the city hall, Cross Recife, in Macaxeira, in the North Zone, already has 754 registered.

This Saturday (3), Mayor João Campos was at the site, an extension project of the Recife Academy.

This is an initiative of the City Hall, through the Sports Department.

The area also received painting of the walls through the Executive Secretariat for Urban Innovation.

“The first public cross training box in Brazil is here in Recife. Here is an area that had no use, had no public function. So, we had this idea, we decided on the location, on the edge of Avenida Norte, in the heart of Macaxeira and we are doing this initiative, free for everyone to use. We are transforming the city, transforming public space and encouraging physical activity”, declared João Campos at the time.

How it works

Just like Academia Recife, Cross Recife offers professional support during opening hours, and at an extra cost. In this modality, there is the presence of a teacher and two interns. Classes take place from Monday to Friday, from 5:30 am to 9:30 am and from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm; on Saturdays, from 6am to 10am.

Scheduling can be done via the link: Just click on Equipment Scheduling, on Make an appointment for Academia Recife and continue with the registration. In the end, the best day and time are chosen. The new space is on Rua Tijucal s/n, close to Parque da Macaxeira.
