A 46-year-old woman is seriously injured and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after the toilet she was sitting on broke in Aragarças, in the west of Goiás. The victim’s sister told the Military Police that she did not know how the accident occurred, as she only heard her family member’s screams.

The incident occurred during the early hours of Wednesday (31). The victim’s sister discovered her badly injured in the bathroom at home and called the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). Due to nervousness, the family member was unable to locate the padlock key to open the gate. Consequently, rescuers had to request the intervention of the Military Police to break the padlock and access the residence.

As soon as the teams entered the house, the woman received first aid while still in the bathroom and was subsequently taken to the Getúlio Vargas Municipal Hospital. There, after treatment, it was necessary to transfer her to Goiânia due to the seriousness of the case.

At the moment, the victim is hospitalized at the State Center for Rehabilitation and Readaptation Dr. Henrique Santillo (Crer), in Goiânia. The health unit informed the report that the woman is in the ICU, using a nasal catheter, but is in good general condition and remains on bed rest, with monitoring.
