The operations were carried out in a coordinated manner throughout the national territory, with the participation of federal and state prison employees in more than one hundred prison units. During the actions, searches were carried out in 120 cells. On Wednesday, the searches took place at the Canoas Prison Complex, on Thursday (1st) at the Modulated State Penitentiary of Montenegro and, on Friday, at the Sapucaia do Sul State Penitentiary, covering a total of 826 inmates.

The secretary of the Secretariat of Penal and Socio-Educational Systems (SSPS), Luiz Henrique Viana, highlighted that the state government is investing in strategic actions to help reduce crime rates. He highlighted that the RS Seguro Program is achieving positive results in the fight against crime.

In this phase of the operation, approximately 180 employees, including members of the Special Actions Group (Gaes) and the Rapid Intervention Group (GIR) of the 1st Penitentiary Region, in addition to teams from the prison units, were mobilized.

Supervision of the operation was conducted by the Department of Intelligence and Strategic Operations of the SSPS, together with the Department of Security and Penal Execution of the Penal Police, with the support of the institution’s Intelligence Department.

Mateus Schwartz, superintendent of the Criminal Police, emphasized the technical competence of the Special Actions Group (Gaes) and the Rapid Intervention Groups (GIRs) of Rio Grande do Sul, highlighting that these tactical groups play a fundamental role in reducing crime in the state .

This is the most comprehensive operation promoted by Senappen in the fight against organized crime, due to the participation of several states, the large number of prison employees involved and the extensive number of prison units searched.
