Classes in the state education network return on Monday (05.01) for the 2024 academic year. There are 304 thousand students enrolled as of this Friday (02.01) and the forecast from the State Department of Education (Seduc-MT) is this number reaches 320 thousand, as the 647 schools continue to receive documentation from students and provide support to parents who had difficulties enrolling online.

The Secretary of State for Education, Alan Porto, said that schools are prepared and that the calendar will be adhered to. “We are prepared to welcome our students as planned. We will start delivering uniforms and school material kits this month”, he pointed out.

Clara Luz Caetano Rodrigues, 17 years old, enrolled in the 3rd year of high school, at Escola Estadual Professora Adalgisa de Barros, in Várzea Grande, said that she is excited about the start of classes and is already preparing to take the National Teaching Exam Medium (Enem) this year.

“I’m going to work hard because I’m on my way to realizing a dream, which is to go to college and it’s time to show my academic performance,” he said.

For the student, the Adalgisa de Barros State School has been a reference since when she was in first year. “Pedagogical activities have always stimulated me to seek knowledge and the desire to learn more. I always want to look for new things to continue growing culturally.”

Emilly de Paula Garcia, 16 years old, is enrolled in the 2nd year of high school at EE Militar Dom Pedro II Vitória Furlani da Riva, in Cuiabá. She is also anxious and her goal is to be a straight A student.

“I feel like it’s going to be a year of changes and that I’m going to make a lot of progress, repaying the support we received at school with a pleasant environment and technology in the classroom, which is a big difference in my school,” he concluded.

In 2024, the forecast is to deliver 15 new school units, with investments of more than R$136.3 million. Among the new units are the five school units designed using the Modular Precast Superstructure System, which takes approximately 180 days to build, which speeds up deliveries.
