On the eve of another weekend of revelry in most of the cities of Minas Gerais, the Military Police carried out a series of arrests with the aim of guaranteeing the population during Carnival. In total, 126 fugitives from justice were taken off the streets between Thursday (1st) and this Friday (2nd).
Called “Operation Minas in Security”, the action will last until next Thursday (8) and aims to increase the feeling of security, reduce crime and violence throughout the state during the Carnival period in the state.
Suspicious people, vehicles and vessels may be approached during party blocks and events, according to the Military Police. Furthermore, the military will intensify surveillance against rolezinhos and “rangangan”.
Throughout the period, operations will be implemented to approach suspicious people, vehicles and vessels in resort regions in the State. The suspicious characteristics that will be analyzed, however, were not listed by the corporation.
The “Segurança no Campo” action will also be implemented, with the aim of combating crimes in rural areas of the state. Furthermore, Operation Rolezinho promises to reduce the practice of infractions provided for in the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB).
Within the planning, it is planned to employ personnel from general overt policing, urban and road traffic policing, environmental policing, in addition to intelligence actions and the employment of specialized units.
