The Government of Amazonas, through the Amazonas State Research Support Foundation (Fapeam), is accepting applications for the Program to Support the Popularization of Science, Technology and Innovation in Amazonas (POP CT&I). Financial resources estimated at R$800,000 will be applied to this public call, funds coming from the state treasury.

POP CT&I encourages and supports the holding of science popularization events, in person, virtual or hybrid formats, primarily in the interior of Amazonas. The production and distribution of educational materials are financed to democratize knowledge in Science, Technology and Innovation (ST&I), strengthening the State Science and Technology Week and the state’s public ST&I policy.

The program receives proposals to hold events in museums, centers, parks and other spaces such as public schools in the education network, higher education institutions and public or private scientific, technological and innovation organizations, non-profit and based in Amazonas, which promote the democratization of knowledge through exhibitions, fairs, workshops, short courses, lectures and other interactive activities.

POP CT&I activities are aimed at the public, professionals from specific sectors and elementary, secondary and higher education students.

Proposals can be submitted by researchers from Amazonas until March 18, 2024. The final result and the start of contracting of approved proposals are scheduled for June.
