SÃO LUÍS – Dissatisfied with the government, employees of the TAF group (State Revenue Tax Auditors and State Revenue Agents) are about to “deliver” crucial Structuring Projects to the Maranhão Finance Department (Sefaz-MA). The decision, taken at Assemblies of the Sindaftema and Sintaf unions on 01/24/2024, indicates deep dissatisfaction from both categories.

The delivery of strategic functions, responsible for special leadership and strategic action, thematic commissions and representation of the state in working groups within the scope of Confaz, has the potential to impact projects such as Profisco II and Profisco III, financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). ). The release from these duties is scheduled for February 7th.

It is crucial to highlight that the unions had communicated this decision in advance through letters. The measure reflects the growing devaluation of the work of TAF Group employees, who face the lack of prospects for improved wages and precarious working conditions in service units, inspection and tax offices (old furniture and computers, and the need for urgent renovations in the facilities physical offices in the interior of the state), in addition to the loss of more than 50% of the Tax Auditors from the last competition, to other tax authorities in Brazil.

The scenario created by the handover of functions could worsen considering that the handover of management positions is scheduled for the end of February, raising alarms about the future of state fiscal management.
