A 26-year-old man was arrested after trying to bribe a military police officer to avoid being charged in a Prohibition blitz. The case happened in the early hours of this Friday (2) in the South Zone of Natal.
The blitz was mounted on Avenida Engenheiro Roberto Freire. According to the Military Police, the driver was subjected to a blood alcohol test which showed a value of 0.99 mg/l, constituting a crime. The PM reported that, after the test results, he offered R$500 so that the legal procedure would not be adopted.
The man received a prison sentence for active corruption.
The State Road Policing Command (CPRE) reported that a dry law blitz was also carried out on Avenida Hermes da Fonseca, in the East Zone, during the early hours of the morning. In total, 2 people were arrested at the two barriers and another 10 drivers were notified administratively and had their driver’s licenses withdrawn for mixing alcohol and driving.
