During the official opening of the 2nd edition of Farm Day on the morning of this Friday, 3rd, the president of the Parliamentary Front for Agroindustry (FPA), state deputy Eduardo Fortes, highlighted the importance of the agroindustrial sector for the country and its growth potential in the Tocantins. Held at Fazenda Trindade, located in Cariri do Tocantins, Farm Day is an initiative of Grupo Fazendão, Agribusiness in partnership with Sebrae, and is an excellent opportunity to connect with the main players in agribusiness.

“With a significant share in the Brazilian Gross Domestic Product (GDP), agroindustry in Brazil is the third sector that most contributes to generating wealth. Together with agribusiness, we can attract more investors to Tocantins, generate new business opportunities, employment and income, in addition to strengthening the agro-industries already installed”, he said, congratulating Grupo Fazendão for holding Farm Day and for investing in Tocantins. “You are examples to be followed, Volney and everyone who is part of Fazendão Agronegócio believes in Tocantins and deserves our respect and compliments,” he said.

The parliamentarian also commented on the partnership established between the Campus of the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) in Gurupi, the FPA and Grupo Fazendão Agronegócio. “Our partnership is enabling the qualification of 300 people in technical courses in the agro-industry area and those qualified will certainly have a faster entry into the local job market”, he said.

According to information from the UFT, Tocantins has eight agro-industrial districts in full development, with adequate infrastructure for the installation of different types of companies, one of which is in Gurupi, which is the third largest city in the state and can offer several opportunities for professionals with training in this area.
