This week, the Ministry of Education (MEC) published the ordinance disclosing the value of the National Professional Salary Floor – PSPN for public teaching in basic education for the year 2024. In view of this, Sinteal reinforced that it will fight not only for the implementation of the percentage of the career minimum, but also for an adjustment with a real gain that guarantees the appreciation of public education workers in the basic network in Alagoas.

“Salary negotiations with all managers, both in the State and in the municipalities of Alagoas, will be based on appreciation. We need to remember that the floor is not the ceiling, and that in many places there is a very large lag in readjustments, so this year it is fair that the percentage implemented is above the floor, to reduce accumulated losses”, said the president of Sinteal, Izael Ribeiro.

The announced value of the minimum wage for this year is R$4,580.57. This value is for mid-level professionals, working 40 hours a week. Sinteal argues that it is important that the floor has an impact on your career at all levels.

Concerned about the limitations that electoral justice imposes on readjustments in the months leading up to the elections, Sinteal has already started negotiations with many managers since January, and has been pushing to reach an agreement before April.
