The State Department of Traffic of Ceará (Detran-CE) carries out, between the 1st and 3rd of February, a series of educational activities in strategic points in the municipality of Jijoca de Jericoacoara, considered one of the main tourist attractions in the state. The objective is to raise awareness among pedestrians and drivers about the importance of road safety.
This Friday (2), the work is concentrated at the region’s airport, where traffic agents from Detran-CE talk to users about the correct use of safety equipment in cars, motorcycles and other vehicles, in addition to distributing educational materials with traffic safety tips.
On Thursday (1st), it was the turn of students from Escola Municipal Senador Carlos Jereissati to participate in an educational lecture and workshops on road safety. On the occasion, more than 250 students were present at the school court to follow the instructions of the Detran-CE traffic education team.
“Detran has been intensifying the carrying out of educational interventions during this holiday period and in proximity to the Carnival holiday, with these actions focusing on traffic users who travel on highways and in the municipalities with the highest visitation, with an emphasis on the importance of safe conduct. thus helping to reduce the number of traffic accidents”, explains the director of Traffic Education at Detran-CE, Jorge Trindade.
Detran-CE’s educational actions also take place in Vila de Jericoacoara, where specific awareness-raising work is carried out for tourists and other visitors who pass through the place. The program also aims to comply with the Rodovida Program, of the National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran), which designates integrated actions and promoted by bodies and entities of the National Traffic System (SNT), aimed at road safety, until Sunday, February 18, after the 2024 Carnival holiday.
