Artisans from Bahia have until February 16th to register for the Public Call Notice to participate in the National Crafts Festival in Bahia (Fenaba). The event will occupy spaces and squares in Pelourinho, in the Historic Center of Salvador, from March 14th to 17th, with exhibitions, product sales and musical attractions such as Chico Cesar and Geraldo Azevedo, Baiana System and Vanessa da Mata, among others.
Fenaba’s programming also includes artisanal fashion shows, a gastronomic festival, cultural events, shows and children’s programming. Business rounds and qualification courses are also planned for aspiring artisans.
The festival is organized by the Secretariat of Labor, Employment, Income and Sports (Setre), through the Coordination for the Promotion of Crafts (CFA), in partnership with the Associação Fábrica Cultural, with support from the Secretariats of Culture (Secult), the Tourism (Setur), Promotion of Racial Equality (Sepromi) and production of Pau Viola.
Public Call Notice 001/2024 was published in the January 31st edition of the Official Gazette of the State of Bahia. After reading the notice in its entirety, interested professionals must register by filling out the form available at this link, following the instructions. Artisans from other states will be selected by the National Confederation of Artisans – Conart Brasil.
290 vacancies will be made available distributed among the 20 Craft Routes of Bahia, respecting the proportionality of artisans who hold the National Artisan Card in each area, and 20 vacancies for artisans from municipalities outside the Route, making a total of 310 vacancies .
Of these, 50 places are allocated to master artisans from Bahia, who are exempt from evaluation, but must inform CFA/Setre of their interest in participating in the event. Artisans (ãs) representing the original peoples of Bahia and quilombolas will have 40 places, 20 for each representation. Individual artisans and representative entities (associations, cooperatives and artisanal production groups) can participate in the selection.
To register in the individual artisan category, the candidate must reside in Bahia, be over 18 years of age and be registered in the Brazilian Crafts Registration Information System (SICAB), with a National Craftsman Card (ã ) within the expiration date. Representative entities must be legally constituted in the state (for associations and cooperatives) and the legal representative must also be registered with Sicab. The final result of the selection will be published on 02/28/2024 in the Official Gazette and on the Setre page.
