This Friday, February 2nd, another step was taken towards the construction of the long-awaited bridge that will connect the Inácio Barbosa and Coroa do Meio neighborhoods. The accreditation and receipt of qualification envelopes and price proposals from companies and consortiums interested in participating in the bidding process were carried out at the State Secretariat for Urban Development and Infrastructure (Sedurbi). The work represents a total investment of around R$400 million.

According to the secretary of Sedurbi, Luiz Roberto Dantas, five consortia and two companies participated in this first phase. “Sedurbi’s Permanent Bidding Committee (CPL) opened the bid and, after the companies were accredited, each company’s qualification envelopes were opened and representatives were invited to view and sign the documents immediately. It is the first phase of this stage. These are legal aspects of the notice, which provide this guarantee of minimizing any complications, any problems, any obstacles during execution that delay the work. Because a good work is a completed work. Then it will generate benefits, improve mobility, bring more economic and tourist development, in addition to facilitating circulation, which is what society expects”, he highlights.

The director of the CPL, Atenéa de Moraes Fontes, explains that the Commission suspended today’s session for a thorough analysis of all qualifications, in addition to a technical evaluation of all documentation. “Then the deadline for appeals will be opened, if necessary, followed by the deadline for presenting counter-reasons. Only after this process will the opening of price proposals be scheduled. The result will be published, and all participating companies, whether consortia or individual companies, will receive the information. An additional period of time for appeals will be granted, generally five days, and another five days for objections, if there are appeals. After this period, the Commission will make the final judgment,” she details.

Road Complex

The road complex foresees the construction of two special works of art (OAEs), one being a viaduct, with an approximate length of 180 meters, at the intersection of Avenida Tancredo Neves and Avenida Beira Mar, and the other, a cable-stayed bridge, with a length of 360 meters, connecting Avenida Tancredo Neves to Bairro Coroa do Meio, in the capital. In addition to the OAEs, the project considered an extension of approximately 2.34 km of cycle paths along Avenidas Tancredo Neves, Projetada, Beira Mar and Delmiro Gouveia, as well as the contracting of complementary road services for earthworks, paving, drainage and signage, The project has a total length of approximately 4.80 km.
