The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) released a bulletin that shows that the festivities will be marked by high temperatures in most states, but rain showers may occur in specific regions. After all, where can it rain during the party?
Weather forecast for Carnival
Temperatures in the North, Northeast, Central-West and much of the Southeast will be above average during Carnival days. From February 9th to 13th, the predicted averages are around 30ºC in the states of Amazonas, Pará, Amapá, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco and areas of Matopiba.
In the center-south of Rio Grande do Sul and in the south of Minas Gerais, thermometers will average 25 ºC.
On the other hand, in the south of Espírito Santo, east of Santa Catarina and Rio de Janeiro, temperatures may be slightly below average. The news is good because it reduces thermal intensity and brings freshness to enjoy more comfortably.

Rain during the festival is quite common in some regions of the country, where the population already knows that this is a characteristic of Carnival. According to the Center for Weather Forecasting and Climate Studies (CPTEC), volumes are expected to exceed the average in central areas and southeastern Brazil between the 7th and 13th of February.
The celebration will be rainy in cities such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Brasília, where accumulations can exceed 50 mm.
“It’s still too early to say that this rain will ruin Carnival, but it’s safe to say that it won’t be a sunny period,” said Climatempo spokesperson, Maria Clara Sassaki.
