Sustainable packaging industry announces investment of R$100 million in Pernambuco

Ball Corporation reveals expansion plans in Pernambuco, with an investment of R$100 million to improve its production capacity and boost sectors such as logistics and technology. The announcement took place during a meeting with governor Raquel Lyra, highlighting the commitment to a sustainable economy and job creation in the region. The investments were made possible by tax incentives from the Pernambuco Development Program (Prodepe).

The state is consolidating itself as a strategic destination for the industry, strengthening its position as a reference in the sector. The president of Ball Corporation for South America highlighted the importance of tax incentives for competitiveness, highlighting the relevance of Pernambuco in the production chain.

During a meeting with governor Raquel Lyra, company representatives revealed a contribution of R$100 million, intended to improve the production capacity of the unit located in the Suape Port Industrial Complex.

The investment covers several areas crucial to the company’s operation, including logistics, technology, infrastructure and market assets. This move not only strengthens Ball Corporation’s position as a global leader in sustainable aluminum packaging, but also highlights Pernambuco’s strategic importance in expanding the industry.

This announcement is part of a series of recent investments in Pernambuco, totaling more than R$800 million announced in the first month of 2024. The attraction of these investments was made possible by tax incentives offered by the Pernambuco Development Program (Prodepe), which granted a reduction 85% in taxes.

André Teixeira, director-president of the Pernambuco Economic Development Agency (Adepe), highlighted the relevance of this new contribution and highlighted the state’s positive trajectory in attracting investments. Pernambuco, once again, establishes itself as a strategic destination for companies seeking growth and competitiveness.

Fauze Villatoro, regional president of Ball Corporation for South America, highlighted the importance of tax incentives in the competitiveness of the company, which supplies products throughout South America. Ball Corporation, a giant in the sector, manufactures more than 110 billion cans annually and employs around 21,000 professionals globally.
