Tourists who visit Rio Grande do Norte in the high season this year leave almost R$40 million in the local economy. This is what a survey by the Intelligence Sector of the Potiguar Tourism Promotion Company (Emprotur-RN) shows. These numbers could be even higher, as the data only reflects arrivals via airport.
This result is due to the growth of two important indicators: increase in average spending (17%) and length of stay of visitors (33%), in relation to the same period last year, according to indicators from the RN Tourist Intelligence System (Sírio ). In addition to this performance, there was also an 8% increase in the number of flights to Rio Grande do Norte compared to the same period, according to data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac).
For the director of Tourism Promotion at Emprotur, Nayara Santana, the positive performance is the result of the State Government’s investments in promoting Rio Grande do Norte as a tourist destination. “We know that the state has unparalleled natural beauty, has countless options for leisure, fun, adventure, a very rich gastronomy, however for this to be reflected in the arrival of tourists it is necessary that we always keep the state in the imagination of the final public and strategic partners for the sale of the destination”, he reinforces.
“Our mission is to show Brazil and the world the wonders that Rio Grande do Norte offers, always presenting the news, hospitality and diversity of attractions that RN has”, believes the CEO of Emprotur, Roberta Duarte.
