The Department of Education (Seduc) organized a series of materials with guidelines to contribute to the planning of the school year by state public schools. The contents are aimed at managers, teachers and students, and were structured into six volumes, which are available for download on the Seduc website. The executive secretaries of Secondary and Professional Education, Jucineide Fernandes, and of Equity and Human Rights, Helder Nogueira, launched the collection this Wednesday (31), in three schools in the capital. Inside, each of the 20 Regions will also present the project.
The publications address issues such as reaching high school; preparation for the National High School Exam (Enem); the design of a welcoming school; the activities of student unions; in addition to the catalog of school olympiads.
The executive secretaries visited the Maria José Santos Ferreira Gomes Schools, in the Quintino Cunha neighborhood; Poet Patativa do Assaré, in the Granja Lisboa neighborhood; and Professor Otávio Tercero de Farias, in the José Walter neighborhood.
Helder Nogueira explains that the material highlights the importance of the High School cycle in basic education. “Our strategy aims to ensure that young people remain in school and have access to quality training, with equity. This care occurs from the moment of entry, through the ‘I arrived High School’ action, until the exit door, with the ‘Sou + Terceirão’ initiative. We also bring a catalog that guides and motivates participation in knowledge olympiads, in addition to the group document, made up of proposals brought by students at the State Forum of Grêmios in 2023, and which will guide the planning of schools in 2024”, he says.
Jucineide Fernandes highlights that the strategies suggested by Seduc seek to strengthen the actions developed by teaching units throughout the state. “We present here our planning for the school year, with the aim of subsidizing the work in each school. We also took the opportunity to present the guiding theme of our pedagogical practice during the 2024 academic year, which is ‘Gender equity and protection of women’”, she points out.
Start of the journey
“My expectations for high school are very high. I have goals in life, I want to take the Enem and go to college. What I seek, throughout this period, is to acquire as much knowledge as possible”, highlights student Glória Maria Ximenes, a 1st grader at the Otávio Tercero de Farias High School (EEM).
Messias Braga, director of the Escola de Ensino em Tempo Integral (EEMTI) Poeta Patativa do Assaré, remembers that preparation for the arrival of students begins two weeks before the start of the school year, with the organization of the school’s spaces. Afterwards, the pedagogical day opens space for a process of listening to teachers, with a view to welcoming young people in a special way.
“We always try to make use of the materials that arrive from Seduc. We have coordinators divided by grade, so, as we receive materials focused on each stage, we will use them thinking about providing the best opportunities for our students”, says Messias.
