Government and China come together to mechanize family farming in RN

The visit of the Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture (MDA), Paulo Teixeira, to the Maisa settlement, which is located in the rural area of ​​Mossoró, next Saturday (3), is part of a partnership policy between the State Government, MST (Landless Rural Workers Movement), Northeast Consortium and China, which will invest in the process of modernizing Family Farming (AF).

Accompanied by the State governor, Fátima Bezerra (PT), the minister will visit the area where 1,150 settled families responsible for a diversified production of papaya live; passion fruit; cassava; sweet potato; cashew; organic acerola; melon; watermelon; banana; honey and derivatives; bean; corn; cotton; vegetables; hen; cattle; sheep; goats and pigs (largest producer in RN), in addition to other important species used in traditional medicine.

Minister Paulo Teixeira’s visit represents hope that President Lula’s commitment to agrarian reform will continue, and create the necessary conditions to further develop our settlements.”, celebrates Aglailton Fernandes, from the MST/RN state leadership.

The Maisa settlement, which was founded in 2003 during Lula’s first term as President of the Republic, is considered the largest in the State and one of the largest in Brazil. The site, which has 19,701.0582 hectares, is divided into ten farm villages: Pomar; Well 10; Paulo Freire; Apama; Real; Vila Nova l, ll, lll; Angicos and Montana. The minister will visit the production of Agrovila Pomar, cultivated by the settled families of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST).

In addition to Mossoró, the delegation will also visit the agricultural machinery testing center, in the municipality of Apodi. The equipment will be donated by the Chinese for testing by family farming producers. Since the 25th of this month, a delegation from China has been in RN participating in seminars and courses. The interest is to strengthen and modernize family farming through the mechanization of agricultural production.

Incra

In total, more than 600 Maisa families have already been covered by Incra public policies (National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform), with 579 receiving “women promotion” credits and 33 “initial support” credits. 600 domain titles were also handed over and another 1,114 people are in the process of regularization, 72 of which are from the Maisa settlement.

With the “Incra Itinerante” project, in three months, four territories in RN were visited: Assu-Mossoró, Mato Grande, Potengi and Central Litoral Norte, providing more than three thousand services. The Institute had a repressed backlog of more than six thousand stopped processes, the result of the last 20 years.

The state superintendency of the Incra in Rio Grande do Norte still reached the “TOP 10” in four national goals established by the federal government:

Target “Lote CAR” – being 1st in Brazil: Rural Environmental Registry. A mandatory public registry for all rural properties and now also made for the individual lots of each settler and settler;

Goal “Application of installation credit” – 3rd place in Brazil: One of the credits offered by Incra, which is divided into nine modalities, aimed at the development of the settler and his settlement;

Target “Issuance of titles” – 5th place in Brazil: Last land ownership document, intended for families settled under the agrarian reform;

Goal “Issuance of CCU” – 6th place in Brazil: Use Concession Agreement. A land ownership document, issued before the Domain Title, which guarantees the settled family access to credits offered by Incra and other Government programs Federal support for family farming.
