The Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes holiday, this Friday (2), will have public services on duty, free passes on buses with a Sunday timetable and closed shops in Porto Alegre. Check it out below.

The Public Transport and Circulation Company (EPTC) informs that, due to the public transport holiday, it will operate with free pass and table of Sundays and holidays this Friday (2).

They do not work in cities where Our Lady of the Navigators Day is considered a public holiday. On Friday (2), and at the weekend, the population can use electronic banking services, such as mobile and internet banking, ATMs, telephone banking and correspondents to carry out financial transactions.

Sindilojas Porto Alegre advises that store owners observe the rules established in the category’s Collective Labor Convention (CCT) for the operation of stores on holidays. Establishments that have signed a Collective Labor Agreement (ACT) will be able to open normally with the workforce of employees. Street commerce has the autonomy to decide operating hours.

Establishments that have signed Collective Labor Agreements (ACTs) with the Porto Alegre Commercial Employees Union will be able to operate normally on the holiday, as long as they respect the rules set out in the collective instrument signed by the company and the labor union.

The Sine Municipal will be closed this Friday (2). Public service returns on Monday (5), from 8am.

Emergency rooms and hospitals in the city – Emergency Hospital (HPS) It is Presidente Vargas Maternal and Child Hospital (HMIPV) – will remain open 24 hours.

The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) can be called by phone 192. The Hospital Regulation Team and the epidemiological notification duty continue to operate.

Health units and district pharmacies do not operate on the holiday, resuming service on Monday (5), as well as vaccination against flu and Covid-19.

24-hour emergency services:

  • PA Cruzeiro do Sul (Rua Professor Manoel Lobato, 151, Santa Tereza);
  • PA Bom Jesus (Rua Bom Jesus, 410, Bom Jesus);
  • PA Lomba do Pinheiro (road João de Oliveira Remião, 5120, stop 12, Lomba do Pinheiro).
  • IAPI Mental Health PA (Rua Valentim Vicentini, s/nº – telephone: 3289-3456);
  • UPA Zona Norte Moacyr Scliar (street Jerônimo Velmonovitz, corner of Avenida Assis Brasil – telephone: 3368-1619).
  • Emergency Hospital (Largo Teodoro Herzl, s/nº, Bom Fim neighborhood);
  • Hospital Materno Infantil Presidente Vargas – obstetric and pediatric emergencies (Avenida Independência, 661).

The Municipal Department of Urban Cleaning (DMLU) normally works with all collections during the holiday: household, selective and public waste. The operational sections operate on duty, with teams from 7am to 12pm and from 1pm to 4pm. The DMLU answers the phone number 156.

Citizen assistance service for identifying homeless people: 24-hour service on 156 option 7 at the Approach Center.

The Porto Alegre City Integrated Command Center (Ceic) operates 24 hours a day and responds to risk and emergency situations. Video monitoring monitors urban mobility and public safety, in addition to health and urban cleaning services.

The teams will be in parks and squares, in addition to monitoring gatherings. Fixed and motorized surveillance serves health posts, secretariats and municipal buildings. The GM Operations Center is open 24 hours a day on telephone numbers 153 and 156.

The Porto Alegre Civil Defense maintains a 24-hour call on 199 to provide emergency assistance in high-risk situations.

The inspection team from the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment, Urbanism and Sustainability (Smamus) remains on duty and responds to emergencies at 156 +POA.

On Friday (2), the shift is centralized 24 hours a day at the headquarters of the Municipal Secretariat for Social Development, on Avenida João Pessoa, 1105, Farroupilha neighborhood.

The Tree Management Team of the Municipal Department of Urban Services (SMSurb) works on-call and responds to emergency requests by calling 156 POA.

The public swimming pools at the units of the Municipal Department of Sport, Leisure and Youth (Smelj) operate with weekend and holiday hours this Friday (2), and only open in the afternoon, from 2pm. The swimming pool at the Parque Madepinho Community Center (Cecopam), in Cavalhada, remains closed for maintenance of the two engines.
