A son-in-law of former federal deputy and pastor Flordelis dos Santos was arrested in the act on Wednesday night (31) for threatening the lawyer representing the family of pastor Anderson do Carmo, murdered in July 2019. The Military Police seized a knife and scissors from him.
Last week, Ângelo Máximo Macedo da Conceição, assistant prosecutor in the Flordelis Case, had already filed a complaint for assault against Elias de Souza Azevedo, the former deputy’s son-in-law. Ângelo said that he was leaving the Piratininga Supermarket, in Niterói, when Elias approached him and started threatening him.
This time, Elias went to the lawyer’s house with a knife and scissors. Ângelo said he felt threatened — after hearing that he would be killed — and called the Military Police. When the police arrived, Elias reacted to the police approach and was arrested in the act for persecution and resistance.
The case was registered at the 76th DP (Niterói). According to investigators, Elias has already been charged with murder in Araruama, in the Lagos Region.
g1 was unable to locate Elias’ defense.
