Paramount+ went through the motions in its national programming. The platform made a package and canceled heavily promoted products, such as “Drag Race Brasil” and “Rio Shore”. In addition to being cancelled, the products were removed from the streaming service. The produced seasons went into limbo.

To make matters worse, the 4th season of “Rio Shore”, fully recorded and edited, will not even air.

The list of removals also includes Brazilian films and series, such as “Marcelo, Marmelo, Martelo”, “Escola de Quebrada”, “As Seguidoras”, “Vai Dar Nada”, as well as the documentaries “Coração Suburbano” and “Funkbol”, and Latin American productions such as “Cecília”, “A Roulette da Morte” and “Drag Race México”.

The cuts received no official explanation.

Paramount Global is being courted by several investors, with buyout offers currently being considered by its US shareholders. The cancellations fit the profile of a company that seeks to cut costs to appear more attractive to the market and obtain a better price in a possible sale.
