Balance is the main hallmark of the confrontation. In total, there were only three games for the Brazilian Series C Championship (2011 and 2013), being a victory for each side and a draw.
The two teams only faced each other again in 2013, with Estrelão’s return to Series C. That year, Rio Branco-AC beat CRB-AL at home 1-0, and were defeated away from home 2-0 .
The two teams also competed in Série C in 2010 and 2009, but were in different groups and did not face each other. The same happened in 1989, in Series B.
After more than 10 years, the two teams are experiencing different moments. CRB-AL is in Series B of the Brazilian Championship and Rio Branco-AC, since falling to Series D in 2013, has no longer gained any national access.
In the first phase of the Copa do Brasil, the CRB-AL has the advantage of a draw to advance against Rio Branco-AC. The qualified team will face Athletic-MG or Volta Redonda-RJ in the second phase.
