The first day of registration for the community wedding ceremony in Gurupi, south of Tocantins, generated a queue and a lot of anticipation among couples who dream of making their union official. Registration begins this Thursday (1) and runs until February 29th.
Places were available for 100 couples and reservation registration was made available, and some people arrived at the registration location early in the morning so as not to miss the chance to get married free of charge. The recommendation is that interested parties seek to register as early as possible to guarantee the opportunity.
This is the second edition of the free event in the city and is being organized by the Instituto Gratidão Tocantins. The institute’s coordinator, Alline Moreira Borges Torquato, was surprised by the repercussion.
“With the success of the first edition, we imagined that the demand would be greater. But we didn’t imagine that they would arrive early in the morning to guarantee a place, even though we knew that registrations would be open until the 29th”, said Alline.
In the previous edition, 100 couples formalized their union and it was necessary to open a reservation register. According to Alline, there are always more interested people than the vacancies made available by the registry office.
Registration is free and you must bring a photo ID, proof of residence and contact telephone number. The community wedding will have a civil ceremony and is scheduled to take place on May 18th, at Recanto dos Ipês.
Interested parties must register in person at the institute’s headquarters, located on Avenida Paraná, between 5th and 6th streets, from 8am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm from Monday to Friday.
