In an interview with GloboNews on Wednesday (January 31, 2024), Valdemar questioned how Tabata will lead São Paulo if he has never participated in a government.

How are you going to run a city hall, school meals, construction work? You have no idea. He never participated in a government, he never learned. Are you going to learn at the city hall in São Paulo? This is going to be chaos for São Paulo”, stated the politician, whose party supports the re-election of mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB).

She’ll say, ‘But my boyfriend [João Campos, PSB], who is the mayor of Recife, is the mayor of the highest rated capital in the country’. But the mayor of Recife is Eduardo’s son [Campos, ex-governador de Pernambuco]. And he saw his father’s behavior, the things his father did, he learned a lot just by watching Eduardo, who was a phenomenon, who was a great politician”, added Valdemar.

A Folha de S. Paulothe deputy countered the comment by criticizing Nunes: “From what we have seen, the person who does not have administrative experience is Valdemar’s own candidate, the current mayor Nunes”. Taba concluded: “Furthermore, I’m not here to argue with those who practice politics as usual, focused on their own vested interests. Valdemar to give advice to those who still believe in him”.
