The state education network will receive an important reinforcement in 2024: the number of full-time education schools will increase from 116 to 126 units. The expansion of the offer shows that the modality is a priority for the Government of Alagoas, which, through the State Department of Education (Seduc), continues to invest massively in guaranteeing quality education for Alagoas residents.

Of the ten schools, two are new constructions – and are still under construction – in the municipalities of Roteiro and São Sebastião. Two others are in the capital: Escola Lions, in Pajuçara, and Escola Nossa Senhora do Bom Conselho, in Santa Amélia. The others are located in six municipalities, including the backcountry region. They are: Freemasonry schools (Palmeira dos Índios); Prof. Maria Cândida (Pindoba); Canon José Bulhões (Dois Riachos); Father Antônio Duarte (Olho d’Água das Flores); Prof. Aloísio Ernande Brandão (Santana do Ipanema); and Canon Amando Gusmão (Coqueiro Seco).

Differentiated approach – The special manager for Strengthening Comprehensive and Complementary Education in Secondary Education at Seduc, Erivaldo Valério, celebrates the expansion of the modality. According to him, the increase in the number of full-time schools allows for a deeper approach to each area of knowledge and curricular components.

“The more time in the classroom, the greater the academic development of the student, who is more prepared for educational and professional challenges. This is because our comprehensive education model also includes complementary activities and cultural, artistic and sporting projects, so that we form more critical, creative and socially engaged citizens”, says Valério.

Special Manager for Strengthening Comprehensive and Complementary Education in Elementary Education, Ilson Leão, in turn, reinforces the scope of the proposal. “We aim not only at intellectual development, but also at emotional development, addressing issues such as self-knowledge. Furthermore, our schools are also structured in a way that allows the social development of the student, as we also have a professional, the class guidance teacher (DOT), whose role is limited to monitoring the evolution of each student’s learning” , explains the manager.
