City Hall in emergency situation hires show with millionaire fee from Gustavo Lima
As reported by TV São Francisco (TV Bahia’s affiliate in the region), the fee is R$1.1 million and the R$200,000 is allocated to the artist’s accommodation and transportation. The payment was divided into five installments.
The value of this contract – signed in September 2023 the same month that the city declared an emergency – it is three times greater than the entire amount allocated to the budget of the city’s Culture department, of around R$413 thousand. The emergency decree is valid until March.
By means of a note, the city hall of the municipality, which has around 30 thousand inhabitants, said that the celebrations in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes are traditionally held in the month of February and have always included great musical acts.
Still in the note, the municipal management informed that the celebrations are extremely important for the development of the municipality, as they strengthen the local economy and commerce, attracting tourists and visitors.
The document also provides that the municipality is responsible for paying for accommodation in a hotel with a level of service and comfort with a level of excellence, in addition to local transport, dressing room and equipment porters.
