Dengue is a growing threat in the Federal District, with an alarming increase in cases of the disease earlier this year. Until January 20, 2024, the Department of Health registered 16,079 probable cases of dengue, an increase of more than 600% compared to the same period of the previous year. This worrying situation puts the population on alert and requires joint actions to combat the spread of the virus.

In this context, the Union of Workers in Public Schools in the Federal District (SAE-DF) is taking measures to guide its members, especially those in the Public Policy and Educational Management (PPGE) career who are part of the public education network in the DF and have joined to INAS, the health plan for local public servants.

INAS, in partnership with the Exame and Sabin laboratories, accredited by GDF Saúde, is offering special discounts on the Qdenga vaccine against dengue from this Tuesday, January 30, 2024. This is a joint effort to protect the health of public servants and contribute to reducing dengue cases in the region.

Qdenga is an immunizer developed by the Japanese laboratory Takeda Pharma and received approval from the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) in March 2023. The vaccine is effective against the four serotypes of the dengue virus and is administered in two doses, with an interval three months between them. It is recommended for people aged 4 to 60 years old, and those over 60 years old need a doctor’s prescription to be vaccinated. Furthermore, the vaccine is suitable for both those who have already had dengue and those who have never been infected.

The discount offer makes Qdenga more accessible to INAS beneficiaries. To take advantage of this opportunity, beneficiaries must simply present their plan card and an identification document at one of the participating laboratory units.

Vaccine values:

  • Normal value: R$412
    • Discounted value for GDF Saúde: R$ 309
  • Installment:
    • Single dose: 6x
    • More than one dose: 12x (minimum installment R$50)

  • Normal value: R$410
    • Discounted value for GDF Saúde: R$350
    • Installment: 10x (minimum installment R$70)

This joint effort aims not only to protect the health of public servants, but also to contribute to the reduction of dengue cases in the Federal District. With the ongoing epidemic, vaccination is a crucial tool in the fight against this mosquito-borne disease.
