Rain causes disruption in Grande Rio
Will return to rain heavily in RJ this Thursday (1st). As happened this Wednesday (31), there is a forecast of storms from the afternoon, with lightning and wind. In the morning, weak and moderate showers may fall.
The predicted rainfall volumes are still significant, with the potential to cause impacts such as flooding and overflowing of rivers and streams. The maximum should be 29°C.
Friday (2) will still be unstable, with lots of clouds and rain at any time of the day, which intensifies again in the afternoon and evening. The potential for flooding and overflows is still high. The maximum in the capital is 29°C.
On the weekend, the rain subsides and it happens quickly and isolated in the afternoon and evening, without high volumes. Cloud cover is still high, but the sun appears more. The heat will return little by little, reaching 33°C in the capital on Sunday (4).
On Monday (5) the weather doesn’t change much compared to the weekend. A high pressure system over the sea influences the weather, and instabilities decrease. The possibility of isolated and temporary rain in the afternoon and evening in all regions cannot be ruled out. The maximum in the capital is 33°C.
Streets were flooded in several regions. A tree fell on Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, closing the road, affecting traffic in several parts of the South Zone.
Galeão Airport operated using instruments: 4 landings were alternated to other terminals; 7 departures and 1 landing were delayed; and a takeoff was cancelled.
