The Federal Police (PF) is investigating the whereabouts of a jetski that was allegedly used by Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) family when they went fishing in Angra dos Reis, in Rio de Janeiro, on the same morning that the search operation took place and seizure against his son, councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (Republicans – RJ). The information is from CNN Brasil.

The PF received information indicating that a watercraft, which was with the family, did not return. Police officers are now investigating the possibility that the vessel was used to hide evidence.

The councilman’s defense denied any irregularities to the news site, assuring that he is willing to give a statement as soon as he gains access to the full details of the investigation.

When contacted by CNNthose close to the family stated that the jetski did not return because it belonged to a friend and was transported to his residence, with no irregularities involved.

Carlos Bolsonaro was the target of a search and seizure warrant on Monday, the 29th, when the PF continued Operation Close Surveillance, launched last week and which investigates an alleged scheme at the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) that illegally monitored public authorities and other people. Advisors were also targets of police action.

Furthermore, the former director of Abin and current federal deputy Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ) was the target of search and seizure. According to the investigation, the parliamentarian used the body’s structure to carry out illegal espionage that would benefit Bolsonaro’s family.

According to the PF, Abin illegally monitored the ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Gilmar Mendes and Alexandre de Moraes, the former president of the Chamber of Deputies Rodrigo Maia, the former deputy Joice Hasselmann and the former governor Camilo Santana, from Ceará, today Minister of Education in the Lula government, among other people. The investigation shows that Abin tools and services were used to illegally monitor these authorities.

Abin is the body responsible for providing information and strategic analysis to the Presidency of the Republic to contribute to decision-making. According to investigations, the criminal organization used mobile device geolocation tools without due judicial authorization. Under Ramagem’s guidance, seven federal police officers carried out the orders, monitoring targets and producing apocryphal reports that would be released with the aim of creating false narratives.

The Federal Police found, for example, records that Abin tried to produce evidence that linked STF ministers and federal deputies opposing Bolsonaro’s government to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). Fake news linking these authorities to the criminal organization circulated in Bolsonarista groups.

The PF also found documents that indicate that Abin’s intelligence system was improperly used to monitor a Rio de Janeiro prosecutor who investigated the murder of councilor Marielle Franco and driver Anderson Gomes.

The documents about the prosecutor would have the same visual identity as apocryphal reports produced by the “parallel structure” that, according to investigators, would have been set up at Abin.

In a live broadcast on Sunday, the 28th, Bolsonaro denied having created a “parallel Abin” with the purpose of spying on his political opponents while he was president.
