O g1 spoke with the councilor, who preferred not to be identified, and had access to the content. In the messages, the man says that the group running for Mayor which the politician is part of is made up of “scavengers” and who does not vote for black candidates, only for white ones.

Upon accessing the offensive messages, the councilor opened a case against the man.

“It was the first time something like this happened. We are very sorry, I feel emotional. People need to stop this”, said the councilor.

Upon completion, the investigation will be analyzed by the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais (MPMG), which will decide whether to file a complaint.
