The Oncological Reference Complex of the State of Goiás (Cora) is the first public hospital exclusively focused on cancer treatment in the state and is located on the banks of BR-153, in Goiânia
  • The Attorney General’s Office of Goiás recognized that the model chosen for the construction and management of the Oncological Reference Complex of the State of Goiás is constitutional

The Public Ministry of the State of Goiás (MP-GO) rejected the complaint from the PSDB state directory, signed by the party’s national president, Marconi Perillo, against the Government of Goiás and governor Ronaldo Caiado, for possible irregularities in the construction of the Oncological Complex of Reference of the State of Goiás (Cora).

When ordering the filing of the complaint, the Attorney General of Justice of Goiás, Cyro Terra Peres, considered that the model chosen for the construction and management of the unit is constitutional, supported by Law No. 13,019/2014, known as the Regulatory Framework for Society Organizations Civil.

“The conclusion of partnerships for the provision of public health services, through collaborative management, with the private sector is not prohibited in the Federal Constitution, as already established by the Federal Supreme Court, in the records of ADI 1923/DF”, he noted the Attorney General of Justice.

Cyro Terra also added that “article 30, item VI, of Law 13,019/2014 expressly provides for the possibility of entering into a partnership with civil society organizations, including directly, for the collaborative management of health services, without distinction whether of a preventive or assistance nature”.

The MP-GO representative also pointed out that the Constitution itself guarantees other types of contracting for the provision of health care. “From the constitutional text, the conclusion can be drawn that the constituent recognized that public structures could be insufficient to accommodate the entire demand of the SUS and admitted that the Public Power could complement its own network with contracted or agreed private services”, added the Attorney General of Justice, Cyro Terra Peres, when ordering the filing of the complaint.
