Around 75 people, representatives from the municipalities of Abdom Batista, Bom Retiro, Bocaina do Sul, Brunopolis, Urubici and Jaguaruna, visited the Barriga Verde University Center (Unibave) and the Princesa Isabel Open Air Museum this Tuesday. They are part of the Gente Catarina Program in the implementation of the Territorial Development Agenda through the Government of the State of Santa Catarina using the methodology of the Local Economic Development (DEL) program and came to learn about the case of Orleans. The municipality has participated in the Del program since mid-2019, which has already resulted in international awards.

Unibave’s dean of Administration and Innovation, Dimas Ailton Rocha, accompanied the visit and presented the Inventa Incubator and the executive space. “We presented our areas of activity and how Unibave participates together with Del in planning the development of the municipality and the region”, reported Dimas. Visitors also took a guided tour of the Princesa Isabel Open Air Museum.

In the technical mission itinerary, visitors also met companies and had access to details of the awards and other work carried out by the project with the municipality. The secretary of industry, commerce and tourism of Bom Retiro, Jefferson Ulisses Nunes, says that work is starting in the municipality and that since 2021 the aim is to make Bom Retiro one of the main tourist destinations in the Santa Catarina mountains. “We are starting. With these experiences we open our visions. Sometimes we think it’s very complicated, and when you come here, you see simple things that you can develop in Bom Retiro”, comments the secretary.

The businessman and real estate broker from Urubici, Thiago Huthiele, comments that the visit was sensational. “These are projects that bring growth to the region, that help future entrepreneurs get their dreams off the ground,” he says. She reports that she has already had the experience of being in an incubator, at Parque Órion in Lages, and says that it is important for those involved and the entire surrounding region.
