More than 2 thousand Bahian women, aged 40 to 70, can undergo mammography exams free of charge at clinics in Salvador and Lauro de Freitas. The action, the result of the Meu Combustível Salva campaign, is carried out in partnership with CAM Oncoclínicas and the Shell gas station network.
Held for three consecutive years, the CAM Group will offer the exams for ten months to patients in the Unified Health System (SUS). Interested parties can register at the clinic’s units in Salvador (Itaigara and Canela) and Lauro de Freitas. In cases of exams with suspicious results, patients will be referred for final diagnosis (biopsy) and treatment at Aristides Maltez Hospital.
The objective is to increase patient access to screening tests and contribute to the fight against breast cancer, which is one of the main causes of the high rates of breast tumors diagnosed at an advanced stage.
How to sign up
Mammograms can be scheduled on the last Saturday of each month by calling (71) 3512-8600, and carried out in the month following the appointment. It is also worth remembering the criteria for scheduling: women aged 40 to 70, who have had a mammogram a year or more ago and who are users of the SUS network.
My Fuel Saves Campaign
Through the campaign entitled “My Fuel Saves”, all people who filled up with V Power gasoline via the Shell Box application, during the month of October, in Bahia and Sergipe, in addition to receiving a discount of R$ 0.20 cents per liter, automatically collaborated with the donation of mammograms. The novelty of this edition of the campaign is that exam donations will take place throughout the year.
