A man was arrested, last Friday (17), for raping a 19-year-old girl at a construction site in Copacabana, in the South Zone of Rio. The suspect lives on the streets and was arrested for raping a vulnerable person.
The abuse against the young woman took place last Tuesday (14), on Rua Xavier da Silveira, and was recorded by a security camera. According to the police, the victim was returning from Pedra do Sal, in Saúde, when she was attacked by the man. She would not have been able to react and only managed to escape the abuse when she was helped by a pedestrian who was walking nearby.

The crime was registered at the 13th DP (Ipanema) last Thursday (16) by the victim, accompanied by his mother. The accused was arrested the following day (17), on Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, 500 meters from the place where he committed the rape against the young woman, also in Copacabana.
