An elderly man, identified as Nilton Francisco Soares, aged 84, died after being hit by a truck while crossing the road on a bicycle. The accident occurred on BR-060, at the exit to Sidrolândia, in Campo Grande, in the early afternoon of this Wednesday (15).
The police informed the report that the truck driver was heading towards Sidrolândia when the cyclist who was in the opposite direction invaded the road. Rescuers from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) were called, but when they arrived the victim was already dead.
According to the Civil Police, the victim’s body had multiple fractures and injuries. The delegate responsible for the case reported that the truck driver agreed to submit to a breathalyzer during the examination, and the result was negative for alcohol consumption.
The case will be registered as a death to be clarified.
