Companies and startups from Pernambuco have been meeting the demand for Information Technology (IT) services throughout the Northeast. One of the sectors in which this need is most sensitive is healthcare, which has shown constant growth in the last decade.
According to research by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the area has an estimated growth expectation of 3.8% per year until 2025. This expansion occurs, naturally, with an increase in investments in technology and innovation, of in order to improve efficiency, increase productivity and raise the quality of services offered.
According to the Moving the Future survey carried out with 3,500 healthcare establishments in Brazil, 76% of healthcare CEOs intend to invest in technologies such as healthcare software and artificial intelligence in the next year.
In this sense, diagnostic imaging clinics represent one of the areas that stand out most in the adoption of innovative technologies – and present a trend of accelerated growth: between 2011 and 2021, the sector recorded growth of 51.9% in the Northeast region, according to the Brazilian Association of Diagnostic Medicine (Abramed).
This trend is driven by a growing awareness of the importance of early and accurate diagnosis, as well as the search for quality health treatments and regional technology and support services, which allow for a more agile and specific service offering to the local reality.
T4i Solutions, a company from Recife specializing in software development, has been investing to meet the demands of this sector in the Northeast region. With the development of its system for diagnostic imaging clinics, UniClinika, the company from Pernambuco has been occupying spaces previously occupied by multinational companies.
Pernambuco technology boosts business
This was the case of Nova Diagnóstico por Imagem, a reference clinic in medical care and imaging diagnosis in João Pessoa, Paraíba. With the adoption of management software developed in Recife, the clinic has experienced a notable transformation in its operations, improving patient care and simplifying its internal management.
According to Déborah Leite, COO of Nova Diagnóstico por Imagem, the migration to the system offered by a regional company optimized the work of employees, reducing costs and offering more personalized services to the client.
“Until recently, we faced significant challenges in our daily operations with
a bureaucratic system that did not serve us. Now our processes are more agile, our employees work better and our customers are more satisfied”, highlighted Déborah.
The movement follows a trend of greater regionalization in the area of technology and innovation in the Northeast: according to a survey carried out by edtech Rocketseat, 20% of developers in the area of Information Technology are in the Northeast – the second position in the country, behind only the Southeast region.
In the specific case of healthtechs such as T4i Solutions, the Northeast represents 15.35% of the country’s market, with a tendency for investment to increase in the coming years, according to the Brazilian Startup Association (ABStartups).
This greater offer of local technology and innovation services is already producing tangible results. After adopting UniClinka, Nova Diagnóstico recorded a 30% reduction in the time it takes to schedule exams over the phone and a 50% reduction in the time spent attending the clinic.
“The problem with the previous system was bureaucracy, the lack of adequate support. Now, the clinic has more time to innovate and improve its services”, reports the Head of Technology at Nova Diagnóstico por Imagem, Ricardo Anastácio.

According to Gustavo Dourado, partner at T4i Solutions, one of the reasons for the successful implementation at Nova Diagnóstico was the understanding of the local reality and the company’s needs. “We carried out a real immersion to understand the Nova Diagnóstico criteria. The team remained available and was always very helpful during this implementation process”, he concludes.
