Drivers encounter a huge queue to reach the coast of SP on public holidays
Drivers trying to reach the coast of São Paulo, on the morning of this Wednesday (15), the Proclamation of the Republic holiday, face slowness on the road. According to Ecovias, the concessionaire that manages the Anchieta-Imigrantes System (SAI), several sections of Rodovia dos Imigrantes and Cônego Domenico Rangoni are congested.
In Imigrantes, towards the coast, there is slowdown from km 36 to km 53. In Anchieta, towards the coast, from km 34 to km 40. On Cônego Domenico Rangoni, towards Guarujá, from km 263 to km 255. In all sections, the slowness occurs due to high flow of vehicles.
Despite this, Ecovias reported that the weather and visibility are good. The SAI is operating normally (5×5). The descent is via the south lane of Via Anchieta and Rodovia dos Imigrantes. The climb up the Serra takes place via the North lane of the two highways.
Since midnight this Tuesday (14), more than 89 thousand vehicles headed towards Baixada Santista. In the direction of São Paulo, Ecovias recorded the passage of 53 thousand vehicles. In the last hour, more than 4 thousand vehicles got off and more than a thousand vehicles got on.
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a warning of great danger for the heat wave hitting Baixada Santista, on the coast of São Paulo. As determined by g1the red alert is valid until this Friday (17).
During the last weekend, thermometers reached 43ºC in Santos. However, according to Inmet’s weather forecast, temperatures are expected to exceed this number in some cities in the region.
The warning of great danger published by the agency is valid until Friday, but the heat peak is expected to occur in Thursday (16). According to Inmet’s forecast, the tendency is for the maximum temperature to reach 46°C in Guarujá on date.
