With the intense heat in Rio de Janeiro and the increase in visits to health centers due to the high temperature.

Dizziness, headache and even fainting are among the symptoms reported by people who felt sick due to the strong temperatures in the last week. According to the Municipal Health Department (SMS), one person every two hours needed medical attention last weekend.

A survey by SMS indicates that last Saturday and Sunday 22 consultations related to common symptoms in the heat were made to the municipal urgency and emergency network.

“First of all, you need to drink plenty of fluids, such as water, juices and sports drinks. You don’t have to wait until you’re thirsty because this signals the beginning of a dehydration process. It is also important to wear lighter clothing to reduce body heat”, said Municipal Health Secretary Daniel Soranz.

The temperature will rise on Thursday (16) and should exceed 40°C. The predicted maximum is 41°C and the minimum is 19°C. Drizzle is not expected and skies will be clear to partly cloudy.
With the weather still stable, the forecast for Friday (17) is for little cloudiness, moderate to weak winds and thermometers reading between 39°C and 18°C.
