
The 22nd edition of the Recife National Theater Festival begins on Thursday (16), which brings together shows by companies from Pernambuco and other states in 15 locations in the capital of Pernambuco. In total, there will be 28 pieces, 13 of which will be new national productions until November 26th.
Tickets for the shows will be distributed to the public upon delivery of one kilo of non-perishable food. You can get tickets one hour before each play. All proceeds will be donated to the City Hall Food Bank, at Compaz Dom Helder Câmara, in Coque
The program includes children’s options and satires, musicals and dramas, urban performances and dramatic readings.
The activities will spread across the following locations:
- Santa Isabel Theatre;
- Park Theater;
- Apollo Theater;
- Hermilo Borba Filho Theater;
- Barreto Júnior Theater;
- Luiz Mendonça Theater;
- Public markets in São José, Afogados, Água Fria and Casa Amarela;
- Morro da Conceição;
- Rio Branco Avenue.
Among the local productions are “Miró: Estudos nº 2”, by the Magiluth group, which celebrates the poet Miró da Muribeca, who died in 2022. In addition, productions such as “If I were Malcom”, “Ao Paraíso”, “Ao Paraíso”, “ Solo for a Sertão Blues”, “Auto da Barca do Inferno”, “While Godot does not come”, “O Irôko, a Pedra e o Sol” and “Vento strong para agua e soap”.
Also local, the urban performance “Grande Prêmio Brazil”, by Andréa Veruska and Wagner Montenegro, will have four sessions, all in public markets.
On the 22nd and 24th, at 6pm and 7pm, there will be two dramatized reading sessions with actors and groups from Recife: “Justa”, with a text by Newton Moreno, staged by Fabiana Pirro and Ceronha Pontes, at the Faculty of Law; and “O Sonho de Ent”, with text by André Filho, staged by Cia Fiandeiros, at the company’s headquarters, in Boa Vista.
