The period between November and May marks the seasonality of arboviruses, due to the typical occurrence of high temperatures and rains that favor the reproduction of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito and, consequently, the increase in diseases such as dengue and chikungunya – informs the Public Health Secretariat of Rio Grande do Norte (Sesap).

Prevention measures include: observing places that can accumulate stagnant water, such as plant pots and plates, drinking fountain trays and refrigerator trays, drains, sinks and unused toilets, keeping backyards free of possible mosquito breeding sites, scrubbing with Clean the animals’ water containers or reservoirs, do not place garbage in vacant lots and always keep the water tanks covered.
